Holly Elementary

Home of the Hornets

Hello Holly Families,

Thank you again for making Bingo Night such a success! Now that we have raised the money, we need a PAC Executive so that we can decide the best way to spend it!

Do you want to be involved at your child’s school? Here is what a position on the PAC Executive looks like.

Generally, the PAC Executive consists of 5 positions; a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and a DPAC Rep. DPAC stands for Delta PAC Representative. The attachment below gives a brief job description of each title.

The PAC Executive meets once a month with the Principal and Vice Principal to work together to coordinate and facilitate different activities and opportunities. These meetings are usually held on a Wednesday morning and run for about an hour and a half.

We are also required to meet 6 times per year in the form of a General Meeting. These are the meetings that are open to our Holly Community and usually take place in the Library on the second to last Tuesday of the month. They typically start at 7pm and finish by 8:30pm. At this meeting you will hear from the Principal and Vice Principal as to what is currently happening at the school and hear about anything new from the District level that will impact the school. It is also an opportunity to work together as a community to discuss different topics, opportunities, concerns etc. If you want to stay in the loop, make these meetings a priority!

As previously mentioned, a PAC Executive is required in order to spend the money we have raised.  We are specifically looking for parents newer to the school or those of younger children (those who will be at Holly for a few years to come) to get involved. Members of the current Executive will be leaving the school in the next year or two. We would love this opportunity to shadow those new to the positions so that the success of Holly’s community will continue. Without a PAC Executive, the amazing Holly community that we enjoy wouldn’t exist.

Tuesday, May 16th is our final PAC meeting of the school year (7pm in the Library). At this meeting, we will be voting on a proposed budget (where those hard earned dollar$ are going to be spent), nominating a new PAC Executive and rolling out some new ideas surrounding our volunteer woes.

Email info@hollypac.ca if you would like to submit your name for nomination. For those who have never been to a PAC meeting, come on out, we would love to see you! To our regular attenders, we thank you for your diligence!
