After School Lego Club for Grades K-5

**Also looking for Grade 6/7 students to help volunteer.

In the Lego® after-school hands-on class, students build machines, buildings, vehicles, and other structures out of LEGO® bricks, using one-of-a-kind model plans. Instructional content is multi-disciplinary and designed by educators to increase students’ general knowledge and introduce S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts related to the day’s model. The theme for these sessions is Famous Inventions. The students will work in a lab-type setting using Lego® components such as gears, axles, and beams, following an integrated curriculum based on math and science. Kids will love to build moving models of a sewing machine, a hand mixer, a car, a windmill, and more. We offer the students the choice of which model to build, depending on their age, experience, and skill level.

Students work with a partner to build. Once the project is completed, the students further expand their knowledge by modifying their models using different gears and gadgets. Students will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills through their work with Lego® models. Each child takes home a custom mini-figure. Students walk to the multipurpose room directly after the bell rings.   Please complete the attached google form https://forms.gle/vDpyKMEjYoqmhWEn8
