TRAFFIC SAFETY

For the safety of all the children and families in our school community please be reminded of the traffic safety rules we have in place:
• Students are to “walk their wheels” (bikes, scooter, etc.) once they enter school grounds. Helmets are required
• Families driving to school are asked to park in the middle parking spots of the school parking lot, on 62nd street, or in the turf parking lot to name a few close areas.
• We have some “drop and go” spots around the outside of the school parking lot. Please do a quick drop off and keep the flow going. Do not leave your vehicles in these areas.

First Week Information

We are very excited for the start of the 2024-2025 school year!
We want to ensure a smooth entry for our students. Please read the following section carefully as it fully explains how students in Grades 1-7 will be organized for the first week of school.

Our Kindergarten families have already received specific information regarding the September gradual entry format.

• Students in Grades 1-7 will return to school on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 from 9:00am – 12:00pm

• School hours during the first week back will be as follows:

✦ Tuesday – 9:00am – 12:00pm (Please bring a snack)
✦ Wednesday – 8:45am – 1:30pm
✦ Thursday and Friday – 8:45am – 3:00pm

• All returning students in Grade 1-7 will report to the classroom that they were in during the 2023-2024 school year until we move into new classes

• All new students (who are not Kindergarten) that have already registered will report outside the front office (look for signage) for placement in classrooms

• All new students that still need to register at the school will report to the office

• New students will be picked up from the office at 12:00pm on the first day

• During the first few days of school, students are asked to only bring a limited amount of school supplies (pencil box containing pencils and pens, pencil crayons and/or crayons, scissors, etc). All other supplies should be left at home until the students have been assigned to their classes for the year.

• We will most likely be moving into classes either Thursday or Friday afternoon. Although tentative classes were put together in the spring, final organization cannot be done until September, as there are many families who will arrive or leave during the summer months. Even slight changes from projected enrollment numbers can create necessary changes and sometimes require that classes be reorganized once school has started in September. We will be communicating to staff, students, and families throughout next week about the process and when we will be switching into new classrooms for the 2024-2025 school year.
