The Grade 7 Students will be going to the Vancouver Aquarium for an overnight field trip on Wednesday, February 13 to Thursday, February 14, 2019. The cost of this field trip, after fundraising and PAC field trip funds, will be $50 per student. This includes the cost of the programme, a late night snack, breakfast and transportation. On Wednesday, February 13th, 2019, the students should return to Holly (after a full day of school), at 8:00 p.m. for attendance. When this is completed, the bus will depart at 8:10 p.m. for the Vancouver Aquarium. The students will partake in a multiple altered school day, participating in the educational Aquarium program from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. and again the following morning. Thus, there will be no school for students upon their return to Holly on Thursday, February 14th.

Students should bring the following equipment with them:

• Sleepover Gear. ALL GEAR SHOULD BE LABELLED! Sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, pajamas, toiletries.  Due to privacy issues, NO CAMERAS will be permitted.
• Sleeping Arrangements: The boys will have a designated sleeping area on one floor and the girls will be placed on another floor
• THERE ARE ONLY WASHROOMS ON SITE-NO SHOWERS

Please pack lightly-students are expected to carry their own gear. A light snack in the evening and a cerea/egg wrapl breakfast is provided.  NO OUTSIDE FOOD/WATER IS PERMITTED AT ALL!

Safety is always a consideration when taking a group of students on an extended field trip such as this. There will be a thorough discussion regarding expected behavior while traveling on the bus and attending the Aquarium. Students must follow instruction at all times and adhere to all rules in order to ensure their safety and the safety of others. Any student who chooses not to behave will be sent home at their parent’s expense.

The students will leave the Vancouver Aquarium at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14th after their morning program to return to the school. They should arrive at approximately 10:15 a.m. and will be dismissed to go home. Supervision of your child will not be provided after this time as we had an altered day of school.
